This is the Binance mobile app, which makes it easier to manage crypto buys, sells, tracking, and other big plays in the crypto market.

What is Binance?

Binance is cryptocurrency exchange. A cryptocurrency exchange is a place where you can buy, sell, or trade cryptocurrency.

Exchanges became necessary for multiple reasons, both for the community and for regulatory purposes. After the success of not just Bitcoin, but Ethereum and other major crypto projects based on the two, there needed to be a way to not just track, but properly manage the positions and financial stake of different crypto projects.

For regulatory reasons, many exchanges needed to move beyond just being listing services for projects. Anyone can make cryptocurrency or blockchain technology in general, which means both a lot of work for exchange/tracker websites and a loss of stress.

Regulation didn't come out of nowhere. While lots of people--myself included--have gripes about strict government control over the freedom of crypto currency, it's a simple fact that major crypto projects have taken people's money and ran.

That's not the intent of cryptocurrency. It's not a spirit of piracy, no matter how many people wish it were. Who did people run to after being robbed? Their governments. That's how we got here, and why Binance is a big name.

Many exchanges needed to mature in the eyes of financial institutions they compete with and governments that could very well shut down operations--or make them work too hard to get a basic task done. Binance is one of the exchanges that put in the work to earn regulatory trust.

Get The App For Your Country and Area

Binance isn't available in every country, since even with their strict adherence to government rules, any government can change their stance and demand that sites follow the rules. When the company thinks its worth it, they'll make a specific service for that country.

A major example of following a different company's rules is Binance.us, the United States of America service. It's more than adding .us to a Binance website; this is essentially a separate department or division of Binance that has no system connection to the main Binance environment.

Binance.us doesn't work very well, partly because as of 2021 it's still a very new service that tries to follow United States financial regulations that are still being ironed out for crypto.

Keep that in mind when you download the Binance app. Make sure you download the app for YOUR country, and be sure to ask local opinions about your Binance service.

Reading European comments about no Binance problems is useless if you're not on the main Binance exchange. The apps are all fine, but the services are completely different. Some may have delays while others don't, especially when there's a panic to buy or sell.

Binance has a list of its supported sites. As of November 2021, only the United States has a separate website, while the United Kingdom has asked Binance to stop all regulated trading in the area while they investigate the company's operations.

It's not entirely legal to use a VPN to sign up to the main website and trade with foreign banks.
